Euclase (M1296)
Brazil
LOCATION
Rio Grande du Norte, Brazil
SIZE
22 x 11 x 8 mm
DESCRIPTION
An exceptional and rarely seen crystal of euclase from Brazil. This specimen stands out immediately due to its remarkable size, which is outstanding for this species and already makes it a highly unusual example.
The crystal is very well defined and shows bright, highly lustrous faces with good transparency. Particularly striking is the blue coloration that appears beautifully zoned within the center of the crystal, creating a subtle yet fascinating internal color effect.
Euclase is a rare beryllium aluminum silicate and is closely related chemically to minerals such as beryl and topaz. Well developed crystals are uncommon, and larger specimens are especially scarce because euclase tends to occur as small and fragile crystals. A crystal of this size, quality, and clarity is therefore considered a very special and highly desirable collector specimen.
