From the 1920s to the 1960s, top-quality wulfenite was mined in this 9-level deep mine. The thick-tabular crystals are particularly well known, but this specimen shows thin crystals with high transparency and very pronounced luster, which are rather unusual for this site and stand out beautifully against the light matrix. Most of them are free-standing and, despite their large number and rather fragile structure, there is no obvious damage.
