The 3,285-meter-high Mörchner in the Zillertal Alps, with its unique amethysts and sometimes huge iron roses, is one of the most important sites in the entire Alpine region. The iron rose shown here is thinly tabular, highly lustrous, and sits on a small matrix studded with tiny muscovite crystals. It is impossible to imagine a more aesthetic structure!
