DESCRIPTION
The first documentation of this rare mineral was Lovozero massif at Kola peninsula. The main crystal is around 9 mm across, which is a superb dimension for this member of the Perovskite Group, loparite contains titanium and niobium, and a host of other rare earth elements bonded in a simple oxide. There are two large twins, both sharp and with fine luster. They are in combination with Eudialyte (the red mineral), needles of Aegirine and Sodalite. Undamaged.
