Apatite on Arsenopyrite with Muscovite (M035)
The Apatite crystal is 34 across and 25mm thick. It shows excellent translucency and so you can see this spectacular and intense green color even with minor back-light - usually these crystals show color only along the edges, the centers are always opac - not so here; the whole crystal shows glassy character! The faces show perfect luster, like mirrors and the is no face with lower quality or less luster! It is set on large Arsenopyrite crystals - they also show superb luster. Between the Arsenopyrite crystals you can see several small Muscovite crystals in light brown color. The Apatite is complete and on same high quality all around - only one edge at the reverse shows a small contacted area (with former inter-grown Muscovite crystals). Very aesthetic, perfect balance and exceptional crystal size!
