Fluorite (M565)

Sale Price:€0.00 Original Price:€0.00
sale

Although the locality is famouse for red Fluorite - most of them don´t show this intense color, only the best ones do. The color is really not pink - that is more red, the saturation is even better than all specimen in my own collection and reminds more to Rhodochrosite than to Fluorite. The second important point is luster! Again - usually this material is always etched, dull or in best case on satiny luster - but this specimen shows a luster like Fluorite from mining areas in UK or China.  Material from China or also from UK or US comes from industrial mines, from deep shafts where the crystals are protected from erosion - alpine clefts are always close to the surface and so crystals are etched. This is an outstanding exception. What you can´t see on my photos - the crystal has almost glassy character!
And then look at the size of the crystal - the longest edge at the front is about 6cm!!!
And finally the assemble - in person it looks even more tri-dimensional, but already on the photo you can see the amazing contrast to light matrix. This is really very, very eye-catching. So if you ever want to add an alpine Fluorite to your collection - this is the one! Ex Dr. Marc Robert Friedman
