DESCRIPTION

The Viitaniemi pegmatite is embedded in the beautiful landscape with forests and lakes. The old quarrey is flooded, but during the 80ties and 90ties field-collectors were sucessfully in a waste rock field. This particular crystal is 68 x 56 mm large and shows intense blue color. Although there are minor rough areas this one can be considered as finest quality for the locality. And it is a master piece for Finland. Of course it could not be compared with Topaz from Brazil of Rhodesia - but for Europe and Finland it is simply fantastic!
