Silver & Safflorite (M174)
Canada

LOCATION
Castle Mine, Ontario, Canada
SIZE
107 x 67 x 74 mm
DESCRIPTION
460 gramm of native silver in combination with safflorite. The mine was productive from 1917 to 1931, re-opened in 1983, but closed again after only a few years. The safflorite (gray/metallic) has overgrown and replaced dendritic silver. Both is very rare: Safflorite and this replacement, also the locality is more uncommon, size and weight are impressive, too.
