Epidote „Eagle“ (973)

Tormiq, Haramosh Mts., Gilgit-Baltistan, Pakistan

84 x 70 x 43 mm

This specimen is developed as floater, complete all around and there is not even minor damage. The elongated thin crystals formed very elegant curved aggregates. Their assemble not only remind – the really look like the outspread wings of an eagle. Each of this uncountable crystals shows this absolutely perfect luster and really all are end-pointed. The photo can only give you an idea of the tri-dimensional wonderful aesthetic assemble. I collect alpine minerals from Austria and so my favorite locality for Epidote is Knappenwand in Salzburg county – this locality is still judged as the most important locality for the mineral, but this particular piece is the first and only specimen that I would prefer to any specimen from Knappenwand. The piece is from a discovery of season 2018 and the best piece of the find, even the second best one is not even close to this significant, exceptional specimen.
